Owner/Lead Clinician

Davina Amoo, LPC brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the realm of mental health. With a specialized focus on children and adolescents, she is a compassionate clinician dedicated to fostering positive change in young lives. With a decade of experience as an elementary school educator, Davina possesses a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by young individuals in today's complex world.

Her therapeutic approach is multifaceted, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Davina tailors her methods to meet the individual needs of each client, empowering them to navigate their mental health journey with resilience and confidence.

Having worked across various settings including non-profit organizations, private practice, and psychiatric inpatient hospitals, Davina brings a diverse perspective to her practice. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where children, adolescents, and their families can explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and thrive. Davina is dedicated to helping her clients build a foundation for lifelong emotional well-being and resilience.

Parent Trainer/ Program Coordinator

 As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Justine provides tailored guidance and support to meet individual needs. She strives to foster a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences comfortably. Recognizing the uniqueness of each individual, Justine customizes her approach to align with specific needs and objectives, integrating diverse therapeutic modalities such as cognitive mindfulness-based approaches, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. Additionally, Justine holds certifications in Systematic Training for Effective Parenting and Prevention of Physical Holds and Aggression, offering group and individual parent educational workshops. Through these workshops, Justine equips parents with practical and effective strategies for navigating the challenges of modern child-rearing and fostering enjoyable and meaningful parent-child relationships.

Mental Health Clinician

 As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Aaliyah believes clients can cope with life’s many transitions and challenges. Through her experience in public school education, she has developed a passion for helping young adults and adults formulate effective strategies to culminate healthy coping tools designed to balance life’s many challenges. She understands that when psychological needs are not being met, it can be difficult to meet other needs efficiently. Through therapy, she collaboratively assists clients with discovering a treatment plan uniquely designed to provide the best possible outcome. Aaliyah’s counseling experience includes working with pre-adolescents, adolescents, and adults struggling with anxiety, relationship issues, stress, and a variety of other life challenges. She tailors treatment based on the individual needs and goals of each client. Her methods of care include solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based approaches, person-centered therapy, and reality therapy. Aaliyah aims to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment for clients to comfortably examine their emotions, thoughts, and experiences.

  • At Da Capo, we currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Oxford Health Plans, Optum, Oscar, United Healthcare. Please continue to check back for updates to the insurances we accept.

  • Confidentiality ensures that the relationship between the client and therapist is built on trust, professionalism and gives the client comfort to know that whatever is shared with the therapist will not be shared with others. However, limits to confidentiality includes:

    1) If there is a immediate threat or harm to oneself or others

    2) A suspicion of child or elder abuse

    3) In the case of court subpoena

  • A LPC- Associate is a temporary licensed counselor. This indicates that the associate has passed the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and has at least a Master's degree in counseling or a related field (including supervised field experiences, or "practica"). After that, they put in an application and were given a temporary license. This means that the associate must work under supervision for the first 3,000 hours of their career in Texas before getting an LPC credential that lets them practice independently (unsupervised).

    A LPC- is a fully licensed counselor who may practice independently.
